About The Atlanta Irish Music School
Welcome to the Atlanta Irish Music School home of The Atlanta Junior Ceili Band (AJCB). The AJCB was founded by Katherine Irwin Thomas in 2005 to teach and promote quality traditional Irish music to children, teens and young adults in Metro Atlanta, Georgia USA. The Atlanta Irish Music School teaches: Fiddle, Whistle, Flute, Piano Accordion, Piano, Concertina, Tenor Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, Song and Bodhran for students ages 3 to 18 years.
The school offers Ceili Band group classes twice monthly on Sunday afternoons as well as the opportunity to perform throughout the year with The Atlanta Junior Ceili Band. AJCB Students have performed at The Fox Theatre, The Woodruff Arts Center, The Emory Schwartz Center, Agnes Scott College, The Atlanta Commerce Club, The Capitol City Club, The Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade, The Savannah Irish Festival, The Fernbank Natural Science Museum, The Georgia Aquarium as well as several other venues and festivals around Metro-Atlanta.
The Atlanta Irish Music School/ Atlanta Junior Ceili Band is a privately owned music school (LLC) and works in conjunction with our local CCE branch Irish Traditions Atlanta (501c3). Students and families are encourage to join Irish Traditions Atlanta - a non-profit Irish music organization promoting Irish cultural education through festivals, scholarships, workshops and sessions.
Students are current and past winners of the national fleadh cheoil, local feis cheoil and national NAFC cheoil music competitions. The school offers group classes, private lessons, summer camps, recitals, concerts and ceili dances. Irish music is music for your entire family and music for a lifetime --- join us today!
